Empowering the Forgotten Pillars of Society

In vast part of communities, after loosing their partner, widows are left without any financial support or a voice. Haqat ul Foundation believes that no woman should suffer in silence after the loss of their partner. Our “widow welfare program” has the aim along with love, support and immense compassion that widowed women should be empowered and taken care of.

Why Support Widows?

In Islam, widows hold a special right to be looked out and taken care of.

“The one who cares for a widow or a poor person is like the one who strives in the cause of Allah…”
— Prophet Muhammad ﷺ (Bukhari & Muslim)

Widows are often left to raise their children and to meet the basic necessities of life all alone without any financial support, education or hope. Our mission carries hope, independence and compassion for the widows.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“The one who looks after a widow or a poor person is like a mujahid (warrior) who fights for Allah’s cause, or like one who spends the night in prayer and the day in fasting.”
— Sahih Bukhari, Hadith 5353

This Hadith elevates the act of caring for widows to the level of some of the highest forms of worship in Islam.
